It was a fantastic mail weekend! I finally got the wonderful desk and chair from Judith of www.insomesmallway.co.uk for Dumbledore’s Office. Here it is:

I had sent Judith this photo

which I took at Dumbledore's Office from WWoHP Hogwarts.  Didn't she do a great job?!
Well, I definitely think so and I'm hoping that my DD will think so as well!
The only thing that I'm going to possibly do is add a little embellishment to the chair. I also got these lamps
and scale from an Ebay lot which I won. I think that I will try to change the shade color to green using some Ranger Alcohol Inks (yep, the scrapbooker in me!). I can't seem to be able to find some mini lamps that are like the ones from the movies but I think that these will do just as well.

My other delivery this weekend was this fantastic, great, wonderful podium from http://midnightsdreams1089.blogspot.com/

I think that for now I will put it in a corner of Dumbledore's Office roombox until I get the time, energy and most importantly $$$ to work on a Hogwarts' Great Hall roombox.

I am now awaiting a couple of orreries from EV Miniatures which I can't wait to get!
I'm hoping to start doing the inside walls of the Gryffindor Common Room roombox tomorrow and I will, of course, post some of the photos. I'm also tyring to do a scrapbook LO of my process but we'll see if time permits........

Till next time!

And so the research & buying begins....

We are family that absolutely loves Harry Potter books and films, how can you tell:
-bought most of the books the day of release-CHECK; -got our children to love HP as much as the Mom & Dad-CHECK; -DD have read the books more than once-CHECK; -seen all the movies on the release date-CHECK; -was at the midnight show of HP7 Part 1 & 2 – CHECK; -dressed as one of the characters for Halloween-CHECK;-travelled to WWoHP within the first year of opening-CHECK;-planning to go to England for the Studio Tour-CHECK; -been to the Exhibition more than one-CHECK, CHECK
Ok, so you get the picture! So it came to no surprise when our eleven year DD said that all she wants for Christmas this year is anything relating to Harry Potter. My scrapbooking obsessed mind immediately thought of making her a shadowbox using Tim Holtz’ Configuration Boxes
AND so my research began on getting miniatures for it! Well, now I have become obsessed with miniatures and decided to venture into that world by doing a couple of roomboxes.

So far, I’ve gotten some wonderful things for all three projects as well as made a few things. For the Configuration Box, I’ve gotten these wonderful tiny timeturners

from wonderful Ericka at  EVMiniatures.com . Then I saw these two other wonderful miniatures and decided that I had to use them - a wizards cabinet and Hogwarts fireplace from 19thdayminiatures.blogspot.com

and that's where the idea to do a Dumbledore Office and Gryffindor Common Room! I then decided that I had to have this armillary & wizards lens for the Dumbledore Office roombox

Yes, I have so enabled with these wonderful miniatures and that they have for me hooked! I've actually tried to make some minis including these wands

I even tried to make some of the WWoHP Pumpkin Juice Bottle:

I used Tim Holtz bottles and then a small pumpkin from a Michaels swag. I'm now trying to figure out how to make the Horcruxes for the Configuration Box....to be contined.....

I've finally come into the blogging world!

Unbelieveable! I've finally decided to be one of those "bloggers". I decided to chronicle my new hobby of dollhouse miniatures and my first project - a roombox of the Gryffindor Common Room! The whole family are Harry Potter fans and all my youngest daughter wants for Christmas is anything that pertains to HP, so I said to myself - "why don't I make her a one of a kind present" and after researching I decided on a couple of things first a Harry Potter themed Artist Tray and a Gryffindor roombox.

So the shopping began and so far I have most of the stuff for both. Next post I will show all the things I have bought from some wonderful miniature artists.

So the adventure begins......
