And so the research & buying begins....

We are family that absolutely loves Harry Potter books and films, how can you tell:
-bought most of the books the day of release-CHECK; -got our children to love HP as much as the Mom & Dad-CHECK; -DD have read the books more than once-CHECK; -seen all the movies on the release date-CHECK; -was at the midnight show of HP7 Part 1 & 2 – CHECK; -dressed as one of the characters for Halloween-CHECK;-travelled to WWoHP within the first year of opening-CHECK;-planning to go to England for the Studio Tour-CHECK; -been to the Exhibition more than one-CHECK, CHECK
Ok, so you get the picture! So it came to no surprise when our eleven year DD said that all she wants for Christmas this year is anything relating to Harry Potter. My scrapbooking obsessed mind immediately thought of making her a shadowbox using Tim Holtz’ Configuration Boxes
AND so my research began on getting miniatures for it! Well, now I have become obsessed with miniatures and decided to venture into that world by doing a couple of roomboxes.

So far, I’ve gotten some wonderful things for all three projects as well as made a few things. For the Configuration Box, I’ve gotten these wonderful tiny timeturners

from wonderful Ericka at  EVMiniatures.com . Then I saw these two other wonderful miniatures and decided that I had to use them - a wizards cabinet and Hogwarts fireplace from 19thdayminiatures.blogspot.com

and that's where the idea to do a Dumbledore Office and Gryffindor Common Room! I then decided that I had to have this armillary & wizards lens for the Dumbledore Office roombox

Yes, I have so enabled with these wonderful miniatures and that they have for me hooked! I've actually tried to make some minis including these wands

I even tried to make some of the WWoHP Pumpkin Juice Bottle:

I used Tim Holtz bottles and then a small pumpkin from a Michaels swag. I'm now trying to figure out how to make the Horcruxes for the Configuration Box....to be contined.....
